S.C ECOTERRA BIOGAS S.R.L from Moara commune, Vornicenii Mici village, Suceava county, announces the public interested in organizing the public debate on the documents supporting the request for the issuance of the integrated environmental permit, for “Cogeneration plant, by electricity and thermal energy from biogas with electricity capacity 2,974 MWe / 400V, energy
thermal power plant 2,944 MWt ”provided in Annex 1, at:
– point 6.5 Disposal or recycling of non – animal by – products for human consumption, provided for in Regulation (EC) no. 1,069 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of Council of 21 October 2009 laying down health rules concerning originating by – products animal products and derived products not intended for human consumption and repealing the Regulation
(EC) no. 1,774 / 2002, with a treatment capacity of over 10 tons per day;
– point 5.3 (b) Recovery or a combination of recovery and disposal of waste non-hazardous plants with a capacity exceeding 75 tonnes per day, involving, with the exception of activities under the incidence of the provisions of annex no. 1 to the Government Decision no. 188/2002, with the amendments and subsequent additions, one or more of the following activities: (i) biological treatment;
The public debate will take place at the Liteni Cultural Center, Humorului Street, no. 267, Moara commune, sat Liteni, Suceava County, on 09.08.2021, starting at 14:00.

Benefiting from the support and know-how of the largest private organic waste management company in Greece – EcoTerra SA -, Ecoterra Biogas owns and operates the largest biogas plant in Romania, at Moara, in Suceava County. With a processing capacity of 50,000 tons of organic waste per year, the Moara biogas plant generates a quantity of 3MWh of renewable electricity.

The main goal of the Ecoterra Biogas project aims the exploitation of clean organic waste, coming only from direct producers, in order to make the operation time of the biogas plant at maximum capacity more efficient.

Targeted waste includes: expired food or products that do not comply with the quality standards of the food and manufacturing industry – from restaurants, hotels, markets, dairies, oil and soft drinks, slaughterhouses, farms, municipal organic waste or agricultural waste.

A substantial number of farms and factories producing food, dairy and soft drinks are located in an area of about 30 km away from the Ecoterra biogas plant in Moara, an ideal location that allows an easy supply of raw materials needed in biogas production.
